Oh Alice ... CHAPTER 24: Windows and Broken Glass...

`Now tell me, Pat, what's that in the window?'
`Sure, it's an arm, yer honour!' (He pronounced it `arrum.')
`An arm, you goose! Who ever saw one that size? Why, it fills the whole window!'
`Sure, it does, yer honour: but it's an arm for all that.'
`Well, it's got no business there, at any rate: go and take it away!'

There was a long silence after this, and Alice could only hear whispers now and then; such as, `Sure, I don't like it, yer honour, at all, at all!' `Do as I tell you, you coward!' and at last she spread out her hand again, and made another snatch in the air. This time there were TWO little shrieks, and more sounds of broken glass. `What a number of cucumber-frames there must be!' thought Alice. `I wonder what they'll do next! As for pulling me out of the window, I only wish they COULD! I'm sure I don't want to stay in here any longer!'

Hello friends...it's CRYSTAL CLEAR that today you're all joining us for a fabulous challenge here at Oh, Alice! We have all sorts of lovely techniques for you to try today!

Your mission today with Oh, Alice, should you choose to accept it, is to try a technique using cracked glass, crystal effects (or glossy accents), or a window stamp/technique. There are TONS of possibilities with today's challenge and we are SO ready to see all of the fabulous creations you enter!

There's some lovely inspiration from the DT over at Oh, Alice.. or you can go to them direct ...
Jessica {The Mad Hatter}
Emma {July's tea party Guest}
{the Twisted thirteen}

and here's mine...
I had a few disasters this week... I'd seen people do the scracked glass effect and I thought that I could get that efffect by freezing glossy accents! NO way!! it DID not work! LOL ... still a sludgy mess on the table. lol! So then this morning I found out it was clear embossing powder... I might not have put enough on or left it in long enough.. but it did not really crack...so anyway.. I still have the window effect as I used my labels nesties to create a window in the card! Perhaps I'll try it again one day. LOL! Might need to actually see a tutorial first! LOL! The colours I used are: B00, 02, 05, 32, 60, C1, 3, 5, 0, R20, 32, 35, 37, E000, 02, 00, 30, 31, 51, 53, 55, and RV19
The gorgeous Alice image is from Spesch Stamps

a Sketchy Vintage Tilda

Good morning!! Today I wanted to share with you a card I made on the weekend for two lovely challenges -they are JUST MAGNOLIA :: Vintage Theme and FRIDAY SKETCHERS :: lovely sketch by Jeanette from Canada. so Mixing up those two I put together this card...

I am also entering the Stamp Something challenge... of something flowery as I made my flowers..

I am very lucky to have lots of bloggy friends who have stamped me up images, this is another of those :D I coloured Tilda in with Warm Grey Copics - w1, 3, 5 and 7 and then I airbrushed over and round the outside to give the paper an older look using E31, E55, E27) I made the flowers with my nesties and put some brown Copic around the outsides. I had a bit of fun making this one and think it works for the Vintage theme ...

Artful Inkables :: Think Ink #25

It's MONDAY ... so?? It's time for an Artful INKables post!

I am using the new set - Sew you and providing inspiration for the current challenge - This Think Ink challenge #25 is brought to us by DT Member, Marti Wills, and she wants us to:
Make your own background paper or use a special background technique

Here's what I've
done....

The background I cobbled up....

and then the card I made using that...

The BACKGROUND??? on photo paper... I've airbrushed .. then coloured on the sewing machine stamp with the blender pen.. stamped.. repeated a few times, then did the same with RV09 .. I also went back over adding swirls with the blender pen too. I think it looks a little better IRL.

WOULD love to see your entries in the current Think INK challenge.. so pop on over to Artful INKables blog and link your creations up!

All That Scraps Wed Challenge

I have long been in admiration of the artwork of Amy - she makes the most amazing cards and draws exceptionally well! I LOVE her line of stamps that she designs AND the other night I was so pleased to be able to get a few Sweet November digi stamps from All That Scraps and I quickly started colouring them up :D so then I decided to enter the All That Scraps Wednesday challenge.. which this week is to make anything but a card!!

I always struggle with anything but a card but I had this box I wanted to alter/ decorate and so it was perfect timing... this box holds the different embellishments I have on hand to airbrush and so it was very fitting to airbrush it LOL ... I added the gorgeous Sweet November images (so fun to colour) and then added some adhesive lace and BLING... I was still deciding whether to include text... what do you think??

Here's some views from the side and to show what's inside!! :D

Tickled PInk Monthly Challenge #3

Yay... I am getting to enter the Monthly Tickled Pink Challenge ... pop on over - there is a lovely sketch by their great boss lady Kellie Winnell
I have used a Lil Lolita - Willow - isn't she sweet! I just love her pigtails and frills :D
I suppose I have taken a couple of liberties with the sketch... my measurements are a bit skewiff and I have one lovely flutterby instead of the 3 circles... but surely one flutterby is just as good?!?! tee hee!!

Now this is the second Lil Lolita I've had the pleasure of colouring and they are pretty fun ... I used my trusty Copics of course and the colours are RV10, 11 and 13, G00, YG63 as well as W1, 3, 5 and 7. Oh, and the outline blue is B23

Thanks for Stopping by! Last night I purchased some Sweet November digis.. so watch out for many more cards to come as I just can't stop! LOL!! I suppose cards are a bit of a stress relief/ escape for me!!

Oh Alice ... CHAPTER 23: Ravens and Writing Desks...

The Hatter opened his eyes very wide on hearing this; but all he said was,
"Why is a raven like a writing-desk?"
"Come, we shall have some fun now!" thought Alice. "I'm glad they've begun asking riddles.
— I believe I can guess that," she added aloud.
"Do you mean that you think you can find out the answer to it?" said the March Hare.
"Exactly so," said Alice.
"Then you should say what you mean," the March Hare went on.
"I do," Alice hastily replied; "at least--at least I mean what I say--that's the same thing, you know."

Hello everyone!

We are ready to FLY with this week's challenge here at Oh, Alice!

This week, we challenge you to use BIRDS on your card or papercrafting project! We may never know the answer to the riddle above, but while we're pondering that and life's little mysteries we may as well make a great card or two in the process, right?

Check out the amazing examples from the DT:
Jessica {The Mad Hatter}
Emma {July's tea party Guest}
{the Twisted thirteen}

and me...

I had fun with this one... although no image to colour!>!> hehe I used a playing card that I got when we saw Alice at the movies... I did agonise on whether to use it on a card or keep the deck of cards.. but the card won out in the end. lol! I created a background of Ravens with a free clip art image .. printed up the riddle question and I used up the rest of the doiley that I attacked a few weeks ago.. that funny shaped doiley on my White Queen card... was cut out from the middle of the square doiley and now I've glued it and bunched a bit to make it fit.. around the mad hatter playing card! I thought it would be fun to put the google eyes on the flowers! Pretty Alice right??

I listened to Alice in Wonderland on my iphone last week.. it was fun to hear it read out loud!

busy little bee.. 6 cards in an hour

Right well I am on a roll.. so why stop right!! hehe
The lovely Alicia set herself a challenge the other day to make 6 cards in an hour and then she opened the challenge up to us... I saw Aussie Loz and Annette make their Christmas cards and so I thought I'd jump on in with my own Christmas cards... ta da!

well I like to have coloured images on my cards... but there was NO WAY I was going to get 6 images coloured in an hour + the cards made, so I used these beautiful Pixies from Charmed Cards and Crafts .. they are available in black and white and coloured images which is great for times like this. So At 11.25am I opened up my Pixies images folder on my computer and the clock started ticking... I printed 6 out on one sheet of glossy photo paper...then set to work making the card... as I was going I thought that I was making it a bit complicated and would never make it in an hour. BUT at 12.20 I had them all stuck down and the sentiment written - So I decided to "quickly" add my doodling/ stitching around the outsides. I finished this at 12.24 with only seconds to spare till the time changed till 12.25. so I was pretty amazed that I managed to do it!

Here is a closer look....

Thanks Alicia that was FUN! :D

OK.. there is one MORE post coming today... My Oh, Alice card is scheduled to pop up at 3pm :D

Challenges, challenges...

Well the challenge bug must have hit me again as I've been making lots of cards to enter in challenges! YAY! Today I have some cards I made for Anyone for Anya and Anya Ink.

My first card uses Amelia - from the Greeting Farm isn't she so sweet!! Thanks to my bloggy friends who stamped her up for me! the first background is left over photo paper that I airbrushed for my Oh, Alice card last week! I also coloured the flowers with my Copics so they would match the colouring on Amelia.

Now..on to the Challenge + info... Anyone for Anya are BE DAZZLED and so want us to use sparkles on a project! Oh, OK! If I must then.. lol! I have used lots of Spica glitter pen on my image.. I even outlined her in baby blue Spica - although it's not showing up well in the photo BUT I also added bling dots and silver brads (they sparkle too)! The main background has silver sparkly threads through it (but once again the photo does not do it justice)! check out Anyone for Anya for some gorgeous DT inspiration!
Copics used to colour: face: E000,E00,E11, R20, hair: E30, 31,33, yellow: Y11, Y15, blue, B00, 02, 05, Spicas - baby blue, clear, lilac, buttermilk.

The second card uses another TFG image also stamped for my by a lovely bloggy friend!

I coloured her in red, white and green for a Christmassy look as Anya Ink are celebrating Christmas in July for their current challenge! :D There are some very lovely DT creations on the Anya Ink blog and a wonderful prize sponsored by Bizzy Becs - so pop on over and join in the fun!! Copic colours used: C1, C3, E31,33, 35, R32,35,37, E000,E00, E11, YG63, YG67

Well you know it's been a LONG while since I've entered the Dottie's World Challenge OR used a Dottie image... but here goes... Isn't she sweet!

Lou is the gorgeous designer behind these images and many more... including a new set of Fairytale images... over at Charmed Cards and Crafts!!

Anyways, back to the challenge...They would like us to make a Summery card (using a Charmed download) AND to make something different... well I'm not a big one for making shaped cards.. but do like them and this is also a lot smaller than I'm used to... and I don't usually like to cut the images up but I've done all this as you can see below....

What's inside???

Thanks for stopping by... I have to go make a Risotto now for Bible Study tonight... and then I'm hoping to get some blog hopping done.. feel like I have not left many comments for an age (I just have been reading in google reader! lol)
