a nice surprise

I have had a pretty bad week!! issues at work with technology and stresses with the church accounts... trying to liase with the auditors to finalise our annual financial return....ahhhh

I even had to go into work today SATURDAY!! to meet the accountant/ get the audited reports ... get some things finalised before the accounts are presented to the congregation tomorrow...

I have had ongoing headaches for years now!! No rhyme or reason ... a myriad of tests and no results... I think now that it is all stress related as the ones I have had this week have been extra bad!!

Anyway.... this afternoon I caught up with some girls who I used to study the bible with in 2006 - it was lovely to see them... we had an Audrey Hepburn themed afternoon tea where we all dressed up... Here I am as Holly Go Lightly from Breakfast at Tiffanys. That was fun!

During the afternoon tea my lovely husband went to church to try and sort out one of my technology issues (the router) and when he came home he was bearing gifts .... "Spoiling me as I'd had such a bad week" ... What a wonderful surprise.

sorry ... gotta go Stamp now!

Cute card challenge and a confession

Another great challenge from the team at Cute Card Thursday

"As we had 'All Creatures Great and Small' as our challenge last week, we think it's only fair to have 'People' as the theme for this week. Any people image is fine, it could be Magnolias, Bellas, Nellies, Lolas or any others."

Why don't you check it out - once again I MUST say that the DT cards are fantastic - there are some REALLY CUTE cards there :)

Being quite new to stamping ... this world including Magnolias and Bellas and Nellies and Lolas is all new to me and as yet I do not have any of these marvelous stamps (they will be on a birthday wishlist later in the year though!! hee hee) so... I do not have any people stamps :(

Therefore, I am cheating again as I did here*and here*and have created my own image (printed it and coloured in with my derwents) ... until I get some of the gorgeous real people stamps like for example Tilda this little girly will have to do.

So enough rambling... Here is my entry in Cute Card Thursday's challenge #3

* Apologies to any who may have thought that my elephant and / or my umbrella girl were real stamps, I thought the quality would be obvious they were just drawings.

Sketch challenge

Here is my card for Katharina's sketch challenge on the Papertake Weekly challenge blog.
I coloured in the stamp with derwent pencils and added in the extra accents with metallic gel pens!

Clown card

My parents gave me some stamps for Easter - I have a few food intolerances and should not eat chocolate so they gave me some stamps instead - yay! Thanks :)

So I spent yesterday afternoon stamping images and colouring in with my old Derwent pencils
+ some textas and coloured pens!!

Here is one of the results... a card I made for a little 4 yr old friend!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

Sisterhood of the Blogging Stampers -15

Hi Everyone! My name is Sammi!

I have always been into Creative stuff and I just love CRAFT... all types really but most of all card making! I was a consultant for a Scrapbooking business a few years ago and now spend most of my spare time using the tools and product to make cards!! Although I must take some time out to do some scrapping soon!
Just recently I have got into stamping (although I do remember I used to love stamping with my Rainbow Brite stamps as a child)...

The world of blogging is not that new to me as I have had a personal blog for a couple of years but the craft blogging is certainly new and exciting! and that's my world of art and crafts :)

some more about me:
I love making friends ... I am 28yrs old, have been married for 6 great years to a wonderful man and I have been a Christian for about 10years now and I spend my week days working as an Administrator in our church.

Birthday card

I made this card for our God daughter's birthday... card, ribbon, die cuts and stickers :)

Exciting stuff

I have continued my adventures into the world of cardmaking blogs - it is very exciting!!

I'm quite excited by the Papertake Weekly challenge blog and am looking forward to getting stuck into making some cards for the challenges! I emailed Steph just to check it was OK to enter, being in Australia and not the UK (it seems everyone is in the UK) and it is - yay!! Steph has some great cards on her blog

... I'm still not sure about the whole etiquette of linking peoples blogs on mine though but I guess I'll work it out ?? I need to put some links up at the side and a blogroll too I think.

From Steph's blog I found a link to Katharinas who also has some great cards on her blog
as well as some exciting sneak previews of these new High Hopes stamps - COOL!! and she is also offering some blog candy!!

Wedding card

Here is a wedding card which I made for a friend who got married at the end of last year!! pretty simple just some different coloured papers and a heart punch :) I like the layering effect possible with different sized punches!!

Nikki's card challenge

As you can probably see - I am pretty new to this whole card/craft blog thing but I have been looking at some really cool sites :) And today I found this really great blog of Nikki's and was inspired to take up her challenge.... so I searched around in my paper supplies and found 3 sheets of this paper that I don't like at all (left over from a pack of Creative Memories patterned paper - about 4 years old)....

and I made this card!! Still hate the paper - yup!!!
