A TGF altered B'day

It was a good friend's birthday last Tuesday and this is the card I made for her.... I combined two The Greeting Farm digis for this image... they were Dressy Camille (head) and Charlotte (body) .... I think they work well together and suited my friend! I coloured the image with Copics and added blooms and bling and doodling!

Thanks for stopping by... Not in a great way this weekend - so have done a bit of colouring on the couch but that's all! Hope to be back at it next week!!

OH, ALICE.....

CHAPTER TWO: Running in a SKETCHY circle...

"Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?"
"That depends a good deal on where you want to get to," said the Cat.
"I don’t much care where--" said Alice.
"Then it doesn’t matter which way you go," said the Cat.

We have a fabulous sketch challenge today designed by our own TWISTED Tea Party member, Mary Giles! Here is the sketch:
We are VERY honored to be introducing our first sponsor to you today. Kathy from Pixie Dust Studios has VERY generously let us work with her new Digis from her "Down the Rabbit Hole" collection debuting March 1st! What's more? ONE LUCKY WINNER will be chosen at random from this week's participants to choose THREE FREE DIGIS of their choice from Pixie Dust Studios! Thank you Kathy!

This is the card that I have created following Mary's lovely sketch!
I have used Pixie - 'Queen of Hearts' image (isn't she sweet) and I coloured her with copics.
I realised afterwards that the Queen of hearts should have a red dress... hahaha! oopsie!
Oh Well I think she looks sweet here! and I don't have much of a brain this week!

You have until FRIDAY, March 5, 2010 at 10pm CST to upload your card or project to the Oh, Alice challenge blog! Can't wait to see what you creat!

OH, ALICE!!!!!

CHAPTER ONE: DOWN THE RABBIT HOLE: THE BEGINNING...
"The White Rabbit put on his spectacles. "Where shall I begin, please your Majesty?" he asked.
"Begin at the beginning," the King said gravely, "and go on till you come to the end: then stop."

...... It's finally here!!! Yay!! The very first Oh, Alice challenge!! WHOO - How exciting! Below is the challenge Jessica issued and my card!

ALICE GETS GLAM: INSPIRATION CHALLENGE.
In anticipation of the upcoming Tim Burton remake, let's GET GLAM with Alice! Jessica recently scored this UBER fab makeup palette by Urban Decay and fell in love with the awesome colors, the NAMES of the eyeshadows (all after Alice, of course ;) and the pop-up mushroom mirror!
We wanna see how YOU get Glam using this amazing little piece as your inspiration! Show us your style, put on the glitz, and GET GLAM!

And WHAT would our first Challenge be without a PRIZE?! Now, normally we'll be (hopefully) sponsored on the 1st Sat. of each month, but for today's FIRST Fall Down the Rabbit Hole, we thought we'd give away a little something! ONE LUCKY WINNER will be chosen at Random to WIN a stamp single of their choice from THE GREETING FARM (in stock items only). So, GOOD LUCK and here's how to play:

You have until FRIDAY, February 26, 2010 at 10pm CST to upload your card or project using the inspiration photo as your muse! Upload to your blog or public gallery (please use keyword OAC1) and LINK your name on the Oh, Alice challenge blog We can't WAIT to see your creations and THANK YOU for your support of this CURIOUS new venture!

and now for my card.....

Some explanation of this curious card..... I decided to make an easel card.... as the makeup kit was screaming that out to me.... I was also inspired by the colours and the picture around the mirror! I drew up some mushrooms that looked similar and then coloured them (and Alice) in with my Copics ... I decided to papertole the mushrooms (using foam tape) to add a bit more of a 3-d effect! and as for glamour and glitz... I added some bling and stickles to make things a bit more sparkly!!

Here is a closer pic from a different angle so you can see the easel card and the papertoling!Make sure you go and visit all the other DT (links in my sidebar and on the Oh, Alice challenge site) Really Looking forward to seeing you down the rabbit hole and looking at all your wonderful creations !!! OH and..... Jimmy is having a little blog candy giveaway - open to all who enter this challenge to ... so pop on over to Jimmi's blog and find out more :D

Life is a Journey ...

It's my The Stamp Spot posting day.... This is the card that I made...
Photobucket

Once again.... I have not used an image to colour.... shock horror.. It really is difficult for me! haha. used some lovely papers - Bo Bunny - Flutter Butter paper cutouts and Crate paper - Samantha range. I tried to make a flower out of the lacey ribbon in my DT kit.. it's a bit dodgy but kinda works.... secured with a pearl topped pin! :D
The "life is a journey" sentiment feels very apt for me this week.

am not sure if I like it or not (still deciding) it does look better IRL than the photo though.

Don't forget there is only a very short time left for the sale (it ends tomorrow!!!) before Marcia moves so pop on over and snap up some bargains for yourself. And don't forget to drop back in to The Stamp spot tomorrow to see Alex's creation!

SJs Musings

I just had to share with you this card I made with this delightful fairycakes image that SJ was offering as a freebie on her blog during her "party" .... isn't she sweet!! I just love SJs drawings and GUESS WHAT??? I WON one of her prints... yay!!!! Can't wait till it arrives :D

I coloured the image with Copics, a pink spica pen and added glossy accents to the wings... the photo does not show that up properly.. will try and take a better one later... but for now I'm back on the couch :D All the embellishments are from Bizzy Becs store!! The sentiment is handwritten.. but I'm sure you could tell that from the uneven-ness of it. lol!

Thanks for stopping by!

FFF :: Randi's Vintage-esque challenge

According to The Greeting Farm.... "Randi wants you to get old and classy..even old and grungy with this week's "VINTAGE-esque" Challenge!

Yep, that's right, just get Vintage. Whatever that means to you-papers, distressing, aged metals, old flowers, whatever the case may be, we want to see YOUR best "vintage" work!"

so..... here is my Vintage-esque card......

What do you think???

Miss Anya (thanks Trace) is coloured with Copics, papers are from my stash.. I made my own flower from brown paper and DCWV Once upon a time stack.... and I had to add some of the gorgeous Melissa Frances ribbon I got from the Stamp Spot. The colours, distressing and lace are my take on "vintage".

Photobucket
I have cut Spring Dance - Emma out in a heart shape (i did hate cutting off half the image though) coloured her with Copics and then added the frilly scalloped edge.

Photobucket
The second card is for the Cardathon that took place this morning when I was till sleeping...but I followed the instructions when I got up and this was the result.. not the happiest with the colouring and not sure about the papers but I thought I'd show it to you anyway!

Well I think I might not be crafting for a few days... but we'll see what happens... tomorrow morning I have the egg collection for the IVF/ ICSI (finally - so glad to have no more injections for now) and guess I will sleep for a bit in the afternoon AND that's when the waiting (and hoping) begins again! Not sure when I will feel like crafting OR when Mr Mojo will return. Thanks for stopping by! :D

Cute Card Thursday :: Spots and Dots

(second post for today... please scroll down for my STAMP SPOT post)

The Cute Card Thursday challenge is SPOTS and DOTS ....and the sponsor is Phindy's place. I just LOVE Phindy's images so I had to enter and had to use an image I purchased HERE.

I "might" have gone a little OTT with the spots and dots... can't decide.... However it was fun turing a white bloom into a spotty bloom and to make another one pink with white dots!!
Thanks for looking! xxx

I heart you

Shock, horror, I have made a card with no stamped image to colour!!!!
This is my card for this week's The Stamp Spot blog post....
Photobucket

I used a clear heart, two pearl pins and then the white lace and red gingham ribbon. I also used some Basic Grey paper from the Indian Summer range. All available from THE STAMP SPOT STORE .... WHERE there is still an AWESOME SALE... but hurry it's almost over!

Also pop on over to the blog and check out the wonderful creations the other girls have been posting :D maybe see some products they've used that you would love to have from the store.

The way I've put the ribbon and pins looks kinda like a butterfly - don't you think ....
so I am going to enter this for the current Flutterby Wednesday challenge...
Which is:
to use the theme of Love, however you perceive it, just be sure to include a butterfly, fairy or angel on your creations.
There are some very lovely creations over at Flutterby Wednesday so why not flutter yourself over there for a look! xxx

a couple of creations

Just thought I'd share with you a couple of creations I have made for various challenges over at Club Anya and Friends.... The first is for Monday Mania - where Rachel wants us all to to make something for Valentines without using Pink or Red. I just love this Miss Anya and thought she'd be good on an ATC.

My second card (with Wild Sprout Chelsea) is for Club Anya and Friends' Sketch Saturday challenge....

Both the images are coloured with Copics and were stamped up for me by Trace = Thanks! :D

Magnolia Down Under :: Grey + Pink

Yup... this week the challenge at Magnolia Down Under is Grey and Pink and I have not left it till the last minute! Love this colour combination...and think it works well for a shabby chic kind of look... that's what I was trying to go for here...
Photobucket
Tilda is coloured with pink and Grey copics....plus of course some white gel pen highlights. I also used a grey copic to turn a white flower grey! :D
Pop on over to Magnolia Down Under for a look at the challenge and the AWESOME DT creations.. ooh and Kellie has a scrummy prize this week so you might just want to enter as well!!! :D

Well... I seem to be doing a lot of blogging right now (2/3 posts a day) ... I guess that colouring, making cards and then sticking them on my blog is kind of escapism...I LOVE it! and It can be done when I don't have the energy to do a lot else... but I really should get up and do some housework... :P

Sugarbowl sketch + lace

The current challenge over at The Sugar Bowl blog is a sketch challenge... and they also want us to include some lace... this is the sketch:

and this is my card:
Photobucket
The Gorjuss girl is coloured in with Copics, paper is from my stash... I stamped the sentiment in purple and then outlined it in white gel pen... the lacey ribbon came from Spotlight (can't remember the brand). My card was not quite tall enough to suit the exact sketch so it's a little squashed.
