A promised serpent crusher

An explanation of today's advent image:God created the world  and it was good... He created Mankind (Adam and Eve) in his image to look after his world under his rule...  but sin entered the world when the serpent deceived Eve and she ate the fruit from the tree God had commanded them not to eat from and also gave some to Adam who also ate it.

Today's Bible passage contains God's curse to the serpent promising that Man and Woman's offspring would "Crush his head" Full text available here -

Advent 2018 - Jesus is the Reason for the Season

Good evening. It's the 1st of December today and thus the start of Advent.
Here's a little definition from Dictionary.com

Advent
noun.

1. the arrival of a notable person or thing.
    "the advent of television"
synonyms: arrival, appearance, ermergence, materialization, surfacing, occurence, dawn, origin,
    birth, rise, development.
2. the first season of the Church year, leading up to Christmas and including the four preceding
    Sundays.
    Christian theology
the coming or second coming of Christ.

As a Christian, Advent is when we look forward to Christmas and  celebrating the birth of Jesus, the King, "God with us" who would "save the people from their sins" :) He has arrived and done this and will return again one day!

Each day during the lead up to Christmas I'm going to share a picture and a Bible passage. I'll put the line art images here on my blog in case you or some children in your life would like to colour them in. Below is today's image ... I'll post a new one every day :)

The Bible passage can be read HERE

I've also set myself the task of December Daily this year.. I've made a little handmade journal that I will record (with photos and journaling) the months happenings :) Do you do anything for Advent or December Daily???

A birthday card for my Guy

It was Guy's birthday earlier this week .. and this was the card I made for him.. I used a stamp from The Greeting Farm and coloured it to look a bit like Guy :)

All the papers are from my stash... slowly getting through these!!

The stamp "You're Simply Amazing" is a Kaisercraft one.. available in a great set HERE

I found an old Creative Memories sticker (the computer) and used it on the card!
The HAPPY BIRTHDAY I wrote with the chisel tip of my BV18 Copic marker and added a 2nd line with a multiliner! I also outlined the rectangle borders using a 0.3 multiliner - my favourite size!

I made a FAKE Cheesecake.. FAKE because it was dairy free and so absolutely no cheese .. the main ingredient is cashew nuts .. it actually worked well although was a bit of a fail on the night as there was no room in the freezer at my in-laws for it and so it kinda melted into a soggy mess... since it re-froze it actually tastes quite yummy!

Thanks for stopping by!

Gluten and Dairy Free choc chip cookies

Today we had a women's afternoon tea for the women from our 5pm church meeting. It was lovely to hang out and drink tea together :D I experimented with a new recipe .. I found a few online and kinda merged/ experimented with what I had. I think they turned out quite OK :D

INGREDIENTS:
1 cup almond meal
1 cup coconut flour
1 teaspoon g-f baking powder
6 tablespoons of Coconut oil (melted)
4 tablespoons of honey
1 generous squeeze of Vanilla bean paste
2-3 tablespoons of rice milk
1/2 block cooking chocolate roughly chopped (sadly Woolies has no choc chips that are dairy free)

METHOD:
I just threw it all in the bowl and mixed it up .. then scooped out small balls and slightly squashed them.

COOKING TIME:
~10minutes on 180 degrees... our OVEN is really off though..so this could vary!

It's a yummy not tooo unhealthy snack.. which is especially nice with a cuppa tea on these wintery wet days we are having!!

9 years later - blogaversary

If anyone is still reading this TODAY is my blogaversary.... I think I will have to get some blog candy together as a celebration... 9 years ago I started this blog... as a bit of a record of my crafty creations... a bit of an online VAPD .... I have many diaries on the go .... and this is just one of them I guess.. I come and go ... Much change has occurred ... the blog (unlike a paper diary) is where I have made many great friends.. and  though its been a while since talking to many EVERY one I've come into contact with through this blog has a special place in my heart!

I miss the days of blogging, entering challenges, hopping around everyone else's blogs... Once again I may try and do this more often again.. although time is a bit more strained these days... with the shop and creating, preparing, advertising classes etc etc etc...

Tomorrow I plan to post a candy piccy ....

Today I am posting this Girl that I drew and coloured for the Mad for Markers Copic Colour Conference that I am holding in February at the shop :) Isn't she pretty (even if I do say so myself) :D

The main focus of this class will be her HAIR ... I used my fav brunette Copic combo ... E33, E35, E37, E77 and E79.

Thanks for stopping by,
Sammi

I would love for you to join in and I look forward to seeing who you create :D

Please use the hashtags so that we know that you are playing along and we can come and look at your creations! :D
