the rest of the Club Anya and friends challenges

I thought I'd do one post showing you the rest of the cards that I made for the Club Anya and Friends Challenges on Jan 1 ...

Pam's "BLING IT UP BABY" CHALLENGE
I used Rosalie, um I mean Dressy Joyce digi.
And then I added LOTs of bling.... glittery cardstock, rhinestones, kinderglitz, blingy flowers....

Kadie's SEW SATISFYING challenge
I used Hope and Grace Laundry and then for the sewing went with the funkiest stitch I have on my machine....

Kelly's FLOWER POWER Challenge
I loved the way Kelly used her flower on her card... so I had to do a similar one... I also added hand doodled flowers for the border!

Kim's Shape up for the New Year challenge card is in the post below.

Lysa's BRING ON THE COLOR Challenge
Use grey, pink, green & cream on your card or project. I used my new Autumn Anya digi

Melyssa's TAG, You're IT! Challenge
tried for a KISS card this time.

Amy's Ad inspired Challenge
I took the colours + a few other elements from the Ad, ie, the squares + splotches....

Cindy's It's ALL About Sparkle Challenge
Did someone say Sparkle?? Here's the sparkly boy himself!

Kim Costello's “Not the NORM” Challenge
Yes, two colours I rarely ever use are Yellow and Orange....

Randi's MASK-erade challenge
I used Anya and Ian (the new parents for this card) and as Randi always colours hair in the amazingly lovely bright colours I thought I'd give it a go for my card.

Mary's BLACK TIE AFFAIR Challenge
I used Back,
White and Blue

CHERYL's Flowers,RIBBONS and BOWS Challenge
I went for some ribbon stitching + bows tied on, as well as some lovely big blooms.
I was experimenting a lot with my white gel pen on this one
.

Well If you made it down to here well done... thanks for stopping by... tomorrow I will try and show you something DIFFERENT! :D lol!

Club Anya and Friends - Kim's Shape up for the new Year challenge

I'm still having fun with the Club Anya and Friends New Year challenges.... I am halfway there!!
But instead of keeping things simple... seems I'm in the mood for a little more intricate today.
I thought I'd share with you my favourite project so far.

Kim Nath set this Shape up for the New Year Challenge.
I decided I wanted to use Princess Ava and that therefore I should make a castle shaped card.... so here it is:

The next photo shows the shape/ card from a different angle. I cut out the bottom half first and then the top part is a single layer attached to the inside of the front piece. I had to dig out the craft knife to cut out all the windows.

Here is a picture of the card lying flat on the table.

Thanks for looking! I'm off to get a few more cards done and uploaded to the Galleria.
And I'd like to get a bit of blog hopping done too!

thanks for stopping by!

Today's Recipe:
Cardstock, Copics, blooms, rhinestone brads, Fairytale DCWV paper, white gel pen...

Welcoming in the New Year!

WARNING: This post is quite long and contains non-crafty, ie. personal life details.
We went to a friends place (about an hours drive north) yesterday afternoon and spent the afternoon / evening there (we got home around 1.30am'ish). This group of friends/ families give each other presents each year. I made ours.
Bags with 12 cards of varying designs - kids + adults etc.

This is the card I made for one of our God daughters - it was at her house last night and this went alongside her present! :D (sorry for the poor photo)... I realised I had no photo when I was supposed to be leaving to pick up Guy.

2009 ---> 2010
Well I cannot believe it's another year! Although I am pleased... I was really looking forward to a new year, new beginnings are mostly always good :) I thought I'd do a post about 2009/ 2010...
Overall I was thinking that last year was pretty bad but my lovely husband reminded me of our blessings and of some very good things too.... so I thought I'd put down a bit of a summary (for me and others if they care to read on).

Lowlights (there is one main theme that overshadows the year):
> finding out early in the year that we would not be able to conceive children without medical intervention (IVF/ ICSI). :( :( :(
> more headaches and being continually run-down/ stressed.
> undergoing two separate rounds of IVF treatment.... which was both physically and emotionally difficult... losing our precious little embryo each time as both did not implant.
(I will write more on this topic at another stage as it is still hard to think and talk about).
> seeing other friends suffer.

Highlights:
♥ Due to the generosity of Guy's Uncle Jacques (who sadly passed away late 2008) we were able to pay off our homeloan and thus I was able to stop working (which is lovely as I was quite stressed).... not working has cut down my stress levels abundantly!
♥ The love and support of family and friends throughout the year.
♥ Our annual trip to Adelaide to visit some very close friends.
♥ A great bible study group!
♥ turning 30 ... and despite the fact that I was dreading it and really not feeling like celebrating anything at that point in time - being spoilt by friends and family.... including having very good friends come to stay for the weekend!
♥ a WONDERFUL holiday to Lord Howe Island with my gorgeous hubby!
♥ meeting many wonderful ladies on an IVF forum + meeting one of them twice during the year.
♥ being chosen to be on the Stamp Spot Design Team along with 4 other wonderfully talented ladies - Thanks Marcia!
♥ the wonderful community of bloggers - and the many great friendships that have developed with other people online! THANKS to all of you! :D

What I'm Looking forward to this year...
* continuing friendships both off and online.
* making lots and lots of cards ... blogging each day (hopefully).
* doing one more cycle of IVF (probably in Feb).
* Bible study + church
* spending time with Guy
* Wii Fit and my personal trainer on the Wii ... ie. losing weight

Overall I am thankful to God and confident that despite what happens - He holds us safe in his hands and has a great plan!
Praise Him!!

If you made it this far thanks for reading!! xxx

Amy's delightful fairy in a blog candy...

Check this out... the amazingly talented Amy from A Thousand sheets of paper is having a blog candy to celebrate the release of her delightful Chanter Heartsong fairy (who will be available from the 4th at All that Scraps) ... Here's the pic from Amy's blog of what you could win....

The third day after Christmas.....

Here are some of the cards I made following the Greeting Farm's 12 sketches.....
days 2-5......

For day 2 - I have used the Delightful Princess Ava stamp...
coloured in with copic markers and the main DP is from my fairytale paper pack!

For day 3's sketch I have used Anya in the bath from the Me Time stamp set!
Doesn't that bath look lovely! I tried to keep this fairly simple so as to keep the images the focus!

For Day 4 - I have used Mommy Anya... I think this stamp is just so cute!!
I matched her clothes to the DP I wanted to use... from my DCWV sticker paper pack!
coloured again with Copics.

and day 5....Dressy Odette (aka. Esme) is the focus... more of the DCWV sticker paper and some lovely blooms to finish it off!

Thanks for looking.... I'm almost caught up as I'm halfway through day 7 now...whew :D
hope you are all doing well and please do leave me a comment if you're passing through!

On the 6th day of Sketches.....

This is the card I made for the Greeting Farm's 6th sketch .... I'll come back and show you the missing ones later on :D this one is a Farm Fresh Friday sketch too! Here is the sketch:

and here is my card:

I have used lots of Christmas presents for this card.... oh what a lucky girl I am.... I received the lovely DCWV sticker paper (a whole pad full of 6X6"), the white blooms AND the Lolli Anya stamp. I've also added a spotty Basic Grey paper and another PP that came from an assorted paper pack I got from Bizzy Bec's during the year... so not sure what type it is!
Anya is coloured in with Copics.

I received quite a few Greeting Farm stamps - whoo hoo!!

So I've been busy stamping and colouring tonight! So stay tuned for more and more TGF images on my upcoming posts! I need to get some darker ink though.... mm... shopping time!!!
Hope you all had a great Christmas and have recovered from all the feasting :D not long now and it will be a new year... I am looking forward to a NEW year myself! What about you?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESUS

Isaiah 9: 6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given;
and the government shall be upon his shoulder,
and his name shall be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
7 Of the increase of his government and of peace
there will be no end,
on the throne of David and over his kingdom,
to establish it and to uphold it
with justice and with righteousness
from this time forth and forevermore.
The zeal of the Lord of hosts will do this.
(ESV)

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas!!!
Let's remember the real reason for Christmas and give thanks
for the birth of a great King and Saviour... Jesus Christ!! YAY!! :D

I hope that you have a great time with family and friends celebrating this year!!

Twas the night before Christmas....

Perfect time to post this little remake of the night before Christmas for crafters poem that has been doing the rounds :D

Twas the night before Christmas, I'm glued to the tree.
I'm wondering what Santa brought just for me.
Could it be cardstock or chipboard or lace?
Or a Cricut, I said, with a smile on my face.
And that's when I heard him,
"Hi Santa, " I said
"You know....good little girls
should be in their beds."
"I know I should Santa,
and now I've got caught.
But I was just so excited
To see what you brought."
"Well, let's take a look
in this room where you work.
He shook his head quickly,
And left with a jerk.
I heard him exclaim
as he put it in gear.
"You've got enough crap,
I'll see you next year!"

Sorry I have not been about... still not feeling 100% ... hope to be about more next week/ next year!
Have a Great day tomorrow - have scheduled a little Christmas message for tomorrow - I'll be at church and then in-laws place!! xxx
