Kellie's Magnolia Challenge #3

Great challenge this week at Magnolia Down Under - set by Debbie!

• Must have at least one yellow ribbon.
• Has to be Tilda.
• And last of all has to have a flower.

so here is my card...




used derwents, water colour pencils, white gel pen, yellow ribbon and cardstock....oh and some kinderglitz! And the image was received from a friend (I only actually have 4 Magnolia stamps of my own...mmmm).

Huge Thanks to Teen who lives in my computer. lol! Scotland actually .... She has been a wonderful friend to me!! and one of the many lovely things she has done for me was send me this stamp! :) :)

Dottie's World :: use that Photograph

Well Juliet set such a fun challenge on Dottie's World I just had to enter.... I coloured this image on Sunday but did not get the card done until tonight... Busy day today ... jewellery making at church (to send down to ladies in Victoria) and then a friend's bridal shower!

Ok.. so what about the challenge?? Juliet said:

"You can take whatever you like from the photograph: you could focus on the colours, use a cupcake on your work or make a cupcake shaped card - it's up to you. You must include one of the Charmed downloads on your project and please tell us how the photo inspired you in your make by leaving a comment and linking to your blog..."

So here is her photo:




And here is my card (sorry for the poor quality - taken on my mobile as flat batteries for camera... oops!! ... I was mostly inspired by the colours in the cupcakes... but I also liked the spotty tablecloth and so used the dots and colours for a border... and I couldn't forget that wafer .. so the sentiment is sitting on a wafer shape!

Well I was so excited to find an Australian challenge blog for Magnolias that I just had to brave a sore hand and make a card for their first challenge.

Hi everyone,

I had a bit of an accident this morning - When slicing my dense gluten free bread.... I accidentally sliced a little chunk of my palm ... oops! So after 2 hours in the emergency department and a couple of different dressings (but no stitches thankfully!! just dressings) I was on my way to work... only thing is...

It's rather painful and makes it VERY hard to type...seeing as I will be one handed typing all day at work + no use of a second opposable thumb I guess I'll now take a little forced break from blogging + crafting too :( I'll still pop by and read your blogs (and even comment a few times If I can)

Well I looked through my old Dottie's World challenge cards for a good one and decided to use the very first card I made for a Dottie's World challenge... here it is below!

As per my original card I even used Paper piecing! I should do this more often - I like the effect!

Polly's house

Inspired by Maddie's house she made for Calvin mouse ... I decided to make a house for our God daughter's Polly Pocket clan ...

So I used an old box and turned it into this house (as you can see below)!

I used Lou's Awesome new downloads Holly and Madison - Available at Charmed Cards and Crafts. I think that they are just perfect for the house!

Dottie's World :: Stitching

Would you believe I made half of my card for this week's Dottie's World challenge last Sunday....and I finished it off yesterday... I almost missed getting it in... just scraping in really??

Adele set this weeks challenge and said:

"This week I want to see stitching, hand or machine - but REAL stitching, no faux stitching like I am so fond of in my work!You must of course use one of more of the many, wonderful Charmed Downloads but the rest is up to you."



I handstitched around the cardboard! The image is "Madison with Attitude"! Available from Charmed Cards and Crafts!

Sorry I have not been around much and have not really left comments this past week - I'm just trying to keep my head above water right now.

Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge - #19 - Emma~ By Jane Austin

I have discovered the Cinema Saturday challenge :) How exciting! As if I could go past making a card inspired by Jane Austen's, "Emma" ... yup .. I am a big Austen fan!

I thought I'd draw my own image for this one ... so I used some photos I found online from the movie (Gwyneth one) as the inspiration.

The requirement for this week was to use dots.... easy for me (still in my swiss dots phase!!)

I made this card for a young girl we know... we were going to pop by her house today to help celebrate but I have not been feeling 100%... kinda around %10 I'd guess!



Had a fiddle with a few layout things on my blog today... made it 3 column and a new header!

Crafty Muse :: Show Us your favourite colour

The Crafty Muse challenge this week is to "show us your favourite colour"

Well... I guess you know my favourite colour by now.... all shades of PURPLE and well I'm liking pink a lot at the moment too.... so I used a combination.

I altered a box + made it into a treasure chest.... I was thinking I would store coloured images in it as I tend to colour lots of images in at a time and then make cards later... or maybe I will store some of my favourite cards and creations people send me.... mmm... the options are endless...







I have used images from the Once Upon a Time series! :) come on over and join in (you can use any images you like!!!)

a couple of things

I made this card for last week's Papertake Weekly challenge but did not get it online on time... I thought I'd share it anyway :) It was hearts and flowers... I decided not to add any embellishments to the card seeing as the Sugar Nellie image by Leanne Ellis already had both hearts and flowers on it.

Today was my day off.... Drs appointments and relaxing... But the best bit?? a wonderful parcel from my good pal Tina in Scotland!
