"Alice crouched down among the trees as well as she could, for her neck kept getting entangled among the branches, and every now and then she had to stop and untwist it. After a while she remembered that she still held the pieces of mushroom in her hands, and she set to work very carefully, nibbling first at one and then at the other, and growing sometimes taller and sometimes shorter, until she had succeeded in bringing herself down to her usual height.
It was so long since she had been anything near the right size, that it felt quite strange at first; but she got used to it in a few minutes, and began talking to herself, as usual. `Come, there's half my plan done now! How puzzling all these changes are! I'm never sure what I'm going to be, from one minute to another!"Well, just like Alice we have been through a change in location and changed form from weekly to monthly, but the challenge chapters remain familiar despite all these puzzling changes!
-- Chapter 5, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland
To reflect all these puzzling changes, the challenge is to make something that features a dress form, OR to make something that changes in form! While it is not required that your project include Alice in Wonderland, we do encourage it. If your project does feature Wonderland you will get two chances in the prize drawing instead of one!
STAMPOTIQUE ORIGINALS is sponsoring our first challenge with a $30 gift certificate for one lucky winner, and their design team is going to play along! Be sure to visit their Stampotique Designer's Challenge blog where you can play every week!
I am back this week with another project as inspiration for this challenge .. this week I am sharing a little ATC that I created using the mushroom group stamp that I was lucky enough to receive from Stampotique for this challenge!! They are very generous to give us on the twisted team a stamp to work with!!! THANKS!!
I also used Alice from The Greeting Farm's signature set! I love this little Alice!! As you might be able to ascertain from this ATC little Alice just drank that bottle saying "Drink me" and now she is smaller than those mushies there! tee hee!!
Alice is coloured with Copics.. R000, R00, R11, E50, 51, 53, Y11, B12, 14, 000, N1, blue spica
the mushrooms have LOTS of Rs and Lots of Es!!! I also coloured the flower in with blue Copic.. B18 I think it was :D
Make sure you check out The Altered Alice for some GORGEOUS inspiration!!
Hope you are all going well!! I've had a busy weekend!! A friend that I've known since I came to Sydney 13 years ago got married! This was something I've been praying for - for a long time so it was very exciting!! :) also had some friends come and stay ... they came for the wedding.. that was FUN!! :D LOVE these girls!!!
this is SOOOOOOOOO adorable, as well as AWESOMELY Alice! Those mushrooms are perfect for her! What an awesome creation, Sammi!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this ATC! One of my favorite details is the way the mushroom caps break the boundary of the background rectangle - little details like that add so much energy! The twine and felt add great texture, and that big bit of bling is the perfect finish! So GLAD you are on The Altered Alice design team!
