Happy Birthday Mel

It's my friend Mel's birthday today!! She is always REALLY good at making people cakes and cupcakes for their birthday!! I think she is the cupcake queen and so ... I drew this girl holding a cupcake to go on her card!!

I made her card to the recipe on the Papertake Weekly Challenge which is:

1 ribbon
2 rectangles and
3 small, round embellishments (zooms, eyelets, brads, buttons, gems etc!)

Happy Birthday and a Freebie

Today was my Gran's birthday! We went out to lunch for her birthday-- yummy meal! Nice company! She enjoyed it! So did we.. it was a glorious day!! :)

Here is the card I made for her...



I drew the girl on my tablet!! It's a learning curve and I need to use it more to get more practise to improve but I think she worked! :) The flowers and patterns were cut using my cuttlebug!! :)

Happy Birthday

It is my friend Amelia's birthday today!!! This is what I made for her..



I used my new and FIRST ever Hanna Stamps! I coloured in with the Copics.. I was having a few troubles with colours bleeding... I worked out that I have to use the waterbased ink..tick and the cardstock seems to make a HUGE difference! (They are fun though)!




I made covers for the chocolate we bought!! :)




As you can see I had to use the cuttlebug also!! I am in love with it!! :)

Life has been pretty hectic! :)

I received an Intuos Graphics tablet for my birthday ... yippee.... So I am hoping to do a lot of drawing/ designs in the near future!

Papertake Weekly Challenge :: A Stitch in Time

It's was a very PRODUCTIVE day yesterday... I managed to get LOTS of colouring done...yay! As well as Three Challenge cards made. Whoo!

This is my card for this Week's Papertake Weekly challenge ... the theme was "a Stitch in time"
My stitching is faux as I still have not made up any bobbins for my machine! :) lol.




This card is for the daughter of a very good friend.. It will be her birthday mid-September... I am slowly getting more organised! LOL.

I LOVE this image... It is an Elisabeth Bell image and I am so very grateful to my friend Emma for sending me this image... I have been admiring Elisabeth's artworks/stamps for quite some time now and was so pleased to be able to finally use one!! :)

Yesterday was my Darling Husband's birthday!!

I made him this card! It's not quite as good as I was hoping it would be - looked better in my head!! :)




We woke up earlier than usual - when that alarm went off at 6am I actually got out of bed! Wow!! We went out for breakfast before work ... mmm... Guy had a BIG breakfast and I had poached eggs and bacon! mmmm :) Great way to start the day :)

Happy Birthday Karen

Yesterday it was one of our friend's Birthdays!! Karen works with Guy and has just started coming to our church in the last couple of months... It's great - She's lovely and I'm looking forward to getting to know her better!! I made her this card and Guy took it to work!



I made this card during the week!! I went through various phases and then I stopped and started afresh - I wanted to stick some wool on but was having difficulties... originally I had Dottie sitting on a knitted square but it was way too bulky... then I was gluing wool as a border around the image - way too messy - in the process I wrecked the image and had to colour in a new one... poor Dottie!!

Do you have any tips for sticking wool on cards???

Another birthday :)

Here is another birthday card I made during the past week...for a little boy! I made my first ever "slide card" (thanks to the "Stamping and Papercraft" mag I got in April on holidays)!
You just pull the ribbon to make the car move across the card.. pretty cool! If you'd like to know how to make it just post a comment and I'll give you the instructions!

A Birthday card

I made this card for our friend Anna - It is her birthday today!! :) HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
She works with my hubby and so He took the card in to work for her today!! she liked it :)

I was going to put it in the Cute Card Thursday challenge last week, but I was too slow - I will put it in this weeks instead as it is a Birthday card!! :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

I made this card for a very lovely person (She is our Minister's wife/ My Boss's wife) and today she turns 40 ... We will help her celebrate on the weekend!
Guy was going to put this card in their letterbox on his way to work today - Isn't he great!!!


I have not been that well the past 2 days... have not been to work since Monday - which was a very long day... I guess I overdid it ... I am still recovering and trying to get some energy!! Have SLEPT a lot these last 2 days. I'm just so tired and sore - I want to make cards but I don't even have the energy for that!

Monday night was our church Delightful Night for Women and we did cardmaking with Japanese papers and orgami (we also had a talk on "Jesus - Worth waiting for" ... I had helped last Monday in cutting up paper and cardboard for the cards and then we just had soo many people coming that we decided we needed MORE!! so Monday afternoon I cut up more cards/ paper (+Toni had already cut up more before that) ... We had about 60 people there to make cards and I was one of the demonstrators (my table was making simple cards using "Far East Papers" and adhesive ribbons or Raffia ribbons), so I had 5 tables full of women in a row and had to speak over the noise of the other chattering women in the room to explain what to do.
It was a good night! They did make some good cards and enjoyed it

... Unfortunately I did not get photos of the cards as I was too busy...

Pink Petticoat's Lola Rose and her little sister Lilli

These are the cards that I have made using "Lola rose and her Little Sister Lilli" stamps...

My first ever card using Lola Rose - I just love her - she's so elegant! I stuck with the purple and the yellow colors that were in the paper patterns .. I think it came out ok... (I had to, as I often do - outline her with gel pen, after I'd coloured her in)!

This one is for a good friend.. she has been a friend for many years. Over the last 7 years or so we have not really seen each other at all but she is often in my thoughts and prayers and has a special place in my heart as she has been a very encouraging friend and always points me to Jesus Christ... We are in sporadic contact through blogging and facebook ... This card will be a couple of weeks late but I was away during her birthday (not a good excuse really) and would really like to send her something so this is it :)

My first Dottie card

Here is my first Dottie card .. it's for the daughter of a close friend ... It feels like just yesterday that she was born but now she is at school ... Their family moved to "woop woop" (country SA) many years ago and I really miss my good friend Jen! :(

Clown card

My parents gave me some stamps for Easter - I have a few food intolerances and should not eat chocolate so they gave me some stamps instead - yay! Thanks :)

So I spent yesterday afternoon stamping images and colouring in with my old Derwent pencils
+ some textas and coloured pens!!
